Rainbows in the streets: Saskatoon's pride parade turns 16

Hundreds of smiling faces and rainbow flags snaked through the streets of downtown Saskatoon Saturday for the 16th edition of the Pride Parade.

Billed as the city’s biggest parade, the event is the apex of the annual Pride Week, which is meant to highlight the LGBTQ community and their supporters.

Saskatoon Afternoon host David Kirton was tapped to judge the floats, put together by various community groups and companies like TD bank.

“There were a couple there where they really took the Sweet 16 theme and ran with it. They had girls with their sweet 16 dresses and the like… it was a very happy theme,” he said.
