Nearly a day-and-a-half after 30 CN Rail cars came off the tracks north of Saskatoon, traffic is starting to get back to normal on Highway 11.
The City of Saskatoon announced both southbound lanes of traffic past the derailment site had reopened Wednesday evening.
One lane of northbound traffic also opened, although some speed and traffic restrictions were still in place.
Detours around the site began Tuesday morning following the derailment.
The cars spilled grain across the highway and into a neighbouring field.
One locomotive began leaking diesel fuel which quickly caught fire, spewing heavy black smoke seen for miles.
The cause of the derailment remains under investigation.
