RCMP are investigating following a death on a First Nation north of Saskatoon.
Police were called to a home on the Muskeg Lake Cree Nation shortly before 1 p.m. on Jan. 13. They arrived to find 56-year-old Joanne Wolfe-Lafond unresponsive outside of her home.
Paramedics had already arrived by the time RCMP got to the community. Wolfe-Lafond was pronounced dead at the scene.
RCMP announced Thursday that they were treating the death as suspicious following the results of an autopsy conducted in Regina.
The RCMP’s major crimes unit for northern Saskatchewan is heading up the ongoing investigation.
