The brief taste of freedom for an escaped convict from the Saskatchewan Penitentiary is over.
Correctional Service Canada (CSC) reported Steven Briggs was recaptured in a brief post put up on its Facebook page Sunday evening.
The post gave no further details regarding exactly when and where he was apprehended.
Briggs’ escape from the minimum security unit on New Year’s Eve had been an embarrassment for CSC as it was revealed the 24-year-old stole a Corrections Canada pickup truck and was spotted driving it in broad daylight the following day in the Yorkton area.
