The City of Regina is trying to make Spring cleaning easier for people in the city, and to reduce the waste sent to the landfill.
The city is holding two days where citizens can drop off their hazardous waste – Saturday, May 7, and Saturday, June 25, from 9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
Hazardous waste includes things like fertilizers, aerosols, paint and batteries. The city will also accept major appliance, specific electronics, and rimless tires. The items will be recycled or disposed of in “an environmentally responsible manner.”
Here is a full list of the accepted items.
The city is also accepting leaf and yard waste this spring – every Saturday from May 7 to Jun. 11., 9a.m. to 4 p.m.
Things like leaves, plants, and twigs in paper bags or bundled will be accepted.
Drop-off locations include:
Michael A. Riffle Catholic High School, 5757 Rochdale Blvd.
Douglas Park Elementary School, 655 Douglas Ave.
Kinsmen Park South, Kings Road and Lakeview Avenue.
500 Arcola Avenue, between Victoria Avenue and Winnipeg Street.
