RCMP have thanked Arelee/Perdue and surrounding area’s Crime Stoppers group for helping to track down a man suspected of stealing vehicles in Biggar.
Officers received a report of a vehicle stolen from the 400 block of Main Street in Biggar on Tuesday morning.
Soon after police received two more reports of stolen vehicles in the community.
Eventually, the third vehicle was seen on Highway 7 near Zealandia.
A rural Crime Stoppers group first reported the sighting, leading officers to the vehicle.
Police were able to get the driver to pull over, but he ran.
The RCMP canine unit tracked him to an outbuilding in Zealandia where he was arrested.
Russell Reader, 26, from Lloydminster, AB now faces several charges including three counts of vehicle theft.
