Murray Wood: Of Easter bunny bells and Juicy Fruit gum
For Murray Wood, Easter brings to mind grandma's practical advice about repurposing, and some of life's little lessons.
The City of Regina has already begun its battle against mosquitoes, but says numbers are expected to start lower this year.
Due to the little amount of snow this winter, the city’s pest control group expects numbers to be down. However, spring and summer storms can change that quickly.
The city is already treating mosquito larvae in standing water with Vectobac.
Residents are reminded to try to keep standing water out of their yards, as even a small amount of water can produce thousands of the insects.
Twelve traps will be set up around the city to keep a count of mosquito numbers. The monitoring will begin on May 1 with the first report available on May 10.
