A special weather statement remained in effect in southeast Saskatchewan Friday morning even though the area didn’t get as much rain as expected.
The statement began on Thursday as a low-pressure system spread rain throughout southern Saskatchewan and southwestern Manitoba.
“They had around 19 millimetres in Estevan. So not huge amounts,” said Mark Melsness with Environment Canada.
Further west, Coronach reported 17 mm. Melsness said the Cypress Hills provincial park saw two to three centimetres of snow.
Rain is expected to continue in the southeast Friday, with a potential for another 10 mm.
“Then after this evening, it should move out and mainly be mainly just a Manitoba problem,” Melsness said.
