Having no snow this year may have been a great thing for those who don’t like winter, but it didn’t help the City of Regina.
Crews had wanted to try liquid salt that is used on roads in other major centres.
It is a solution used before or as a storm hits.
But there wasn’t enough snow to determine whether it is cost-effective or something they city should consider using permanently.
Instead, it is back on a shelf. The city has told CJME it will try again next year.
