Saskatchewan’s favourite telethon celebrated its 40th anniversary by raising $5.2 million for people with special needs.
As celebratory balloons dropped from the ceiling and the national anthem filled Conexus Arts Centre in Regina, the board behind showed the annual fundraiser had brought in $5,200,017.
This year’s total is higher than last year’s $4.3 million but shy of the all-time 2012 record of $5.9.
