A Saskatoon NHL player is bringing home the cup and making a special stop to honour the Humboldt Broncos.
The Washington Capitals’ Chandler Stephenson is expected to have the Stanley Cup at the Vimy Ridge Memorial in Saskatoon’s Kiwanis Park Thursday afternoon.
Fans are invited to meet Stephenson, who is also a Saskatoon Minor Hockey Association alumnus, at the park from 1-3:30 p.m.
Everyone will be limited to one signed piece of merchandise and a photo with the cup.
The 24-year-old hockey star will then take the Stanley Cup to Humboldt for a celebration Friday.
Stephenson announced the Humboldt visit soon after the Capitals beat the Vegas Golden Knights for the cup on June 7.
