A 17-year-old boy is facing arson charges in connection with a fire at a vacant house overnight on Sunday.
At 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, police officers and fire fighters responded to a call about smoke coming from a vacant house on Garnet Street between 4th Avenue and 5th Avenue. A witness reported seeing a male suspect running from the scene.
Regina Fire and Protective Services put out the blaze.
Members of the Regina Police Service arrested the 17-year-old nearby. He was charged with arson and break and enter to commit a crime.
He appeared in youth court in Regina on Monday morning.
