Saskatoon police have charged a 16-year-old girl in connection to the death of another teen earlier this month.
On June 3, officers found an injured 15-year-old boy while responding to a call at a residence on the 500 block of Avenue J South. The teen was pronounced dead at the scene.
At the time, police said they did not believe the incident was random and proceeded to investigate the death as a homicide.
Shortly before 9 a.m. Thursday, police laid charges against a 16-year-old girl. She’s accused of criminal negligence by discharging a firearm causing death.
The teen is expected to appear in court Thursday afternoon.
Police have not released the victim’s name at the request of the family.
