Reports of pouring rain and heavy snow are causing treacherous driving conditions on highways across the province on Saturday.
Yorkton RCMP are dealing with a serious crash north of the city on Hwy 9 and have asked people to avoid the area.
A driver who texted in to News Talk radio shortly after 9 a.m. said there was pouring rain in the Stoughton area, south east of Regina, creating lots of slush on the roads.
An earlier text from a different driver reported icy sections of highway near Chamberlain, due to freezing rain.
Farther north, most highways leading to Prince Albert are covered with heavy snow and drivers report low visibility, with travel slowed to 50 km/h.
Drivers are advised to check the Highway Hotline before hitting the roads.
