A tech start-up based in Saskatoon is looking on the bright side of owning a business as the Canadian dollar continues to decline.
OneStory’s Katrina German admits they don’t face the same struggle that other businesses do, because they are not importing products from the United States.
“We have people using us for creating awareness about their cause online, for hiring, for having people submit video interviews for membership,” said German, who is CEO and co-founder of the company.
She said they are seeing an increase in costs for the U-S based services they rely on. But there is also a chance that Canadian companies could be more attractive to investors right now.
“That’s very exciting in the start-up scene, in that there might be an additional reason for an American investor to take a look,” German said.
She said they have started focusing a lot of their sales efforts in the U-S market because the American dollar is stretching much further.
“That’s definitely been a change for us.”
