RCMP have made an arrest in the death of a 24-year-old woman in Black Lake Denesuline Nation.
First reported Sunday afternoon, police have released few details about the suspicious death that was upgraded to a homicide investigation Wednesday.
That same day, officials publicly identified the victim as Brandy Robillard from Black Lake.
Police charged 31-year-old Chester Bigeye, also from the community, with second-degree murder in connection to Robillard’s death on June 13.
Bigeye remains in custody and will appear in provincial court in La Ronge by phone Friday at 9:30 a.m.
Black Lake is located in Northern Saskatchewan, southeast of Stony Rapids.
