Some people in communities east of Regina had a frustrating weekend of power outages, in some cases, interrupting Christmas celebrations.
Power was off for several hours on Saturday evening, and would flicker off and on for the rest of the weekend for communities like White City, Balgonie, Indian Head, and Southey.
According to SaskPower, the cause was heavy hoarfrost and ice on lines in the areas, combined with wind knocking the lines together causing breaks. Saskpower had workers out for hours both days to fix the problems.
Three to four thousand customers were affected.
