Murray Wood: Of Easter bunny bells and Juicy Fruit gum
For Murray Wood, Easter brings to mind grandma's practical advice about repurposing, and some of life's little lessons.
The Saskatoon Fire Department responded to a fire at a hotel construction site Wednesday night.
Three fire engines, a rescue truck and an aerial ladder unit were dispatched around 9:30 p.m. to the Sandman hotel being built at 2815 Lorne Avenue.
They arrived to find a fire on the sixth floor of the structure.
The blaze was quickly extinguished by the ladder truck. Crews then used a thermal imaging camera to ensure the fire hadn’t spread into the rest of the building.
Wednesday night’s blaze caused an estimated $2,000 in damage. It came almost exactly a month to the day since a major fire tore through the site on April 18.
Investigators have yet to determine what caused either fire.
