The extended fall weather is here for a few more days yet. In fact, it could be warm enough to break records Wednesday.
Environment Canada’s David Phillips says the high that day is forecast to be 9 C.
“The previous highest on Dec. 9 was 8.9 C back in 1928 and 1939,” Phillips explained.
Enjoy it while it lasts. Phillips contends the weather will return to more normal temperatures by the weekend. Those normal temperature are highs of -8 C and lows of -11 C.
Phillips says that isn’t anything we can’t handle.
“But you know it is not like it is going to go from tropical air to Siberian air,” he joked. “It is not as if you’re going to be punished for all this mild and balmy weather.”
While -8 C may feel cold to some, it still won’t likely mean snow is on its way. Phillips maintains, while slim, a brown Christmas is a possibility, although he predicts at least a thin layer of snow by Dec. 25.
