Onion Lake RCMP say they’ve identified the person found dead and submerged in a slough earlier this week.
Police were called by a passerby to Nine Mile Road, around one kilometre south of the Chief Taylor Road intersection, late Monday afternoon.
RCMP said when they arrived, it was “clear” the person – described only as male – was dead.
On Tuesday, police said they’ve identified the male and are in the process of notifying next of kin.
Police are now trying to determine how and when the male died and became submerged in the slough.
Onion Lake First Nation is located on the Saskatchewan-Alberta border, north of Lloydminster.
