Wakaw RCMP needs help to find a suspect in a break-in at a rural property north of St. Louis.
According to police, the owner found a man inside one of the buildings on the property around 4:40 a.m. Wednesday.
The owner went back inside, got a firearm and shot into the air once.
Because of how dark it was when it happened, the owner could not describe the SUV the suspect got away in.
Police said they have not been able to find the SUV that may be involved and no one was hurt in the exchange.
In a media release, RCMP reminds people that bringing a firearm into a situation can make it more dangerous and asked property owners not to confront or try to subdue suspects or their vehicles.
St. Louis is located 35 km south of Prince Albert.
