Just in time for Mother’s Day, it appears someone is peddling fake gold in Saskatoon.
Police issued a bulletin Wednesday advising they’d had several reports over the last week about a pair of suspects selling phoney gold jewelry around the city.
The reports describe a man and a woman, both believed to be between 40 and 50 years old and speaking with heavy accents, trying to make the sales.
The two have reportedly been seen both on foot or using a vehicle with an Ontario licence plate.
Police said in most cases, the suspects have told people they need to sell the jewelry in order to raise money to get home.
Anyone with information was asked to call Saskatoon police at 306-975-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
