A training exercise for Saskatoon fire crews Thursday evening took a grim turn when they discovered a man’s body.
Police were called around 6 p.m. following the discovery near the Broadway Bridge.
Patrol officers, the major crime unit, forensic identification and the missing person task force all attended the scene.
According to a police media release, the Coroner’s office is assisting in the investigation.
Around 9:30 p.m. police said more information would be released once next of kin had been notified.
