The Saskatoon fire department says carbon-monoxide (CO) detectors may have saved lives after a west-side home was evacuated late Monday night.
At around 9:20 p.m., the fire crews were dispatched to a west-side home after a (CO) detector went off.
Fire fighters arrived to find residents outside and crews entered the home to find a CO reading in excess of 100 ppm.
The fire department said the CO detectors likely saved the residents’ lives, as they were just going to sleep, adding this incident it a reminder that all homes should have a functioning CO detector.
