Teen charged in Vibank school hold and secure

A 15-year-old has been charged after a threat about an armed person potentially visiting the school in Vibank.

The school was put in a hold and secure mode on Sept. 30 because of the threat. It was lifted before the end of the school day.

Investigators with the RCMP, including its integrated technological crimes unit, determined the threat was unfounded and came from someone within the town.

The teenager has been charged with providing a false message. The teen will appear in court on Nov. 17. RCMP have not said whether the teen is a boy or a girl.
