Environment Canada has issued an extreme cold warning for some parts of Saskatchewan.
The warning was issued Wednesday morning for Saskatoon, Meadow Lake, Estevan and Weyburn with those areas experiencing -40 C windchills.
Environment Canada’s Dave Baggaley said the entire province is experiencing below normal temperatures, but a few areas have a little bit more wind resulting in a warning being issued.
Baggaley said the warning should be lifted by sunrise, however windchills will remain in the -30 range for the remainder of the day.
A break from the frigid conditions is expected on Saturday with a high of -8 C for Saskatoon, and -9 C for Regina.
