Saskatoon police used a taser to bring down a suspect holding a knife and uttering threats at a home Tuesday night.
Officers responded to the 300 block of Pohorecky Street around 10:30 p.m. about a man armed with a knife threatening to harm himself and others.
Police said the suspect initially put down the knife, but picked it up again and came toward officers holding the knife to his throat.
At that point, two officer deployed their conductive energy weapons.
The suspect was not injured. He was arrested under the Mental Health Act and brought to hospital for treatment.
The incident will be reviewed in accordance with police policy.
