Ken Tschetter is looking for a refund after his family was turned away from the Slide the City event in Saskatoon on Saturday.
“The kids were disappointed that they didn’t get to go sliding, the money part, that’s what disappoints us,” he said.
His wife, their kids and some family members had a slot at 5 p.m. to go down the massive water side, but staff told them they were closing because of lightning.
Tschetter said his wife was given an email to contact and was told they could get a refund for the $300 they spent on passes.
“But they replied to her saying that they had good reviews for Slide the City and the show was open all day and therefore they are not refunding our money at this time,” Tschetter said.
“If it was sixty bucks or ninety bucks, I maybe would let it slide. But $300? That’s our money because we didn’t get to go.
A spokesperson for Slide the City said their official policy is that they don’t give refunds for weather and that the slide was never closed in the afternoon.
