After checking its list twice, Operation Red Nose came out Wednesday with the final tally of its work to make Canadian roads safer throughout the holiday season.
The service reported more than 70,000 rides were given out by about 50,000 volunteers across Canada between the last weekend of November and New Year’s Day.
In Saskatchewan, volunteers were tapped just over 1,300 times to help get people and their vehicles home safe.
The service had 771 volunteers spread across Saskatoon, Regina, Prince Albert, North Battleford and Yorkton.
Along with providing safe rides, Operation Red Nose also collected $1.5 million in donations across Canada. That money will go to charities and amateur sports groups in the cities where it’s collected.
