An extreme cold warning continues to blanket Saskatchewan Tuesday.
Environment Canada issues the warning when the wind chill reaches -40 C or below.
According to Meteorologist Shannon Moodie, the cooler than normal temperatures will stick around for at least a few days.
“People will be ringing in the new year with the frigid cold temperatures but after that, it looks like there’s a bit of a break,” she said.
The extreme cold warning also draws attention to frostbite and hypothermia concerns.
An update from Environment Canada on Boxing Day suggests people cover up, as frostbite can develop in minutes when temperatures are this low.
“Get out those big parkas, make sure you have an emergency kit in your car and just try to stay warm,” Moodie said.
