“Shortly after, Black Lake RCMP received a second report that a deceased adult male was located near an empty boat in the water south of Black Lake. It has been determined he was one of the missing hunters. His family has been notified,” the RCMP said in a statement.
“Based on preliminary investigation, his death is not believed to be suspicious in nature. The Saskatchewan Coroners Service will work to determine his cause of death.”
Police said the other hunter remains missing in a remote area south of Black Lake, and the search effort now includes members of the Black Lake Denesuline First Nation, community members, search-and-rescue groups and police using both aircraft and remotely piloted drones.
The RCMP did not identify the missing hunter.
