“Healthy Halloween passes are a fun, cost-effective way to provide an alternative to sweet treats for children and youth on Halloween,” Diana Burton, Regina’s director of recreation and cultural services, said in a statement.
“Providing healthy options and promoting recreation for kids is a spook-tacular way to reward trick-or-treaters.”
The city said the passes can be purchased up until Halloween at the Fieldhouse, Lawson Aquatic Centre, North West Leisure Centre and Sandra Schmirler Leisure Centre, as long as supplies last. A package of 10 passes for kids aged two to 12 sells for $7, while 10 passes for children ages 13-18 sells for $10.
On Halloween, trick-or-treaters can pick up free passes from city staff at the Fieldhouse, North West Leisure Centre, Sandra Schmierler Leisure Centre, Niel Balkwiill Civic Arts Centre or Mitakuyé Owâs’ā Centre.
Free passes can also be picked up during the free public skate at the Burray Balfour Arena from 5:45-7:45 p.m.
