Those efforts have been recognized by the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA), which represents radio and TV newsrooms across Canada.

650 CKOM has won the Radio Newscast category for its coverage on the morning after the Saskatchewan Roughriders won the Grey Cup.
The broadcast featured reporters in Winnipeg, Saskatoon and along Regina’s Green Mile as fans and the team celebrated.
The broadcast also featured a guilty verdict in a well-known Saskatchewan cold case.
650 CKOM has been also won the News – Live Special Event category for the collective efforts of our two teams during a nearly five-hour federal election night broadcast.
Our reporters were stationed at the headquarters of all three major parties that night, and broadcast the speeches of the leaders as the results came in.
980 CJME was also acknowledged by the RTDNA with awards for Breaking News and Excellence in Sports Reporting.
The Breaking News award was for the coverage of the Regina refinery explosion, which left two workers injured in March of 2025.
Listeners and readers were kept up to date as the story developed throughout the morning, with Regina’s fire chief and the Co-op confirming what had happened.
Additionally, 980 CJME sports reporter Britton Gray was recognized individually for his feature reporting on two teens from Saudi Arabia who had taken up curling after moving to Regina. They play recreationally, and the two had never even heard of curling before coming to Canada for educational opportunities.
The four awards are now finalists for the RTDNA’s national awards, which will be handed out in November.
