End of an era on C95 as Rob Suski retires from morning show

After many years co-hosting the C95 morning show, Rob Suski is retiring.

Suski, along with his long-time co-host Shauna Foster, has been a big part of Saskatoon’s mornings for 26 years, but his impact on the city extends far beyond the radio show. Suski has long been a supporter of many good causes around the community, notably the annual C95 Radio Marathon for Breast Cancer Research, which has raised more than $7.3 million over the years.

Suski said he and his wife Cindy and his daughter Alyssa are looking forward to spending more time together, adding that his plans include relaxing, travelling and especially sleeping in.

The station is expected to announce the next chapter for its morning show in the coming days.

“I’m so grateful to the city of Saskatoon and to everybody here who has listened and been a part of the show,” Suski said.

“I got to know so many people, and callers, and listeners and business owners. I’m so grateful. I love this city and I love this radio station.”

Some of Suski’s family members joined the show for his final day.

“For so many people, you haven’t just been a voice on the radio. You have been a familiar part of their everyday lives,” Suski’s daughter Alyssa said, fighting back tears.

“I truly could not be more proud of you. You and Shauna have shown me — and so many other people — what it looks like to genuinely love what you do for a living.”

She said her dad was always finding ways to give back to the community.

“You taught me that you can always find ways to make a difference, to show up for people, and to always do what you can to make the world a better place,” Alyssa said.

“I hope you know how many people’s lives you’ve touched, how many mornings you’ve made better, how many people you’ve made laugh and how much this community appreciates and loves you.”

Suski’s mom, Joanne, also joined the show, thanking the community for the support it has given back to her son over the years.

“Thank you, Saskatoon, for loving and listening to our son for 26 years,” she said.

Despite the praise coming from all directions on Friday, Suski was humble in his final moments on the show.

“Hopefully I did it right,” Suski said during his last segment on Friday.

“You did it right,” replied Foster.

C95 is the sister station to 650 CKOM.
