A 41-year-old man is facing five charges of sexual assault and five charges of assault after police launched an investigation into a complaint about a staff member at a Saskatoon school.
According to police, officers received a report on May 26 alleging sexual interference — sexual contact between an adult and a person under 16 — involving a staff member at a school on Avenue N South.

While police did not name the school in question, the address corresponds to St. Mary’s Wellness and Education Centre. The location was confirmed to 650 CKOM by Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools.
The Saskatoon Police Service said its child abuse unit launched an investigation, which ultimately led to the charges.
“The offences are believed to have occurred between the dates of September 1, 2025 and May 25, 2026 and involve five victims that were approximately 10 years of age at the time of the offences,” the police force said in a statement.
“The accused is scheduled to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court on September 16, 2026.”
The school division says the employee was fired after the allegations came to light.
“We were made aware of allegations May 25, 2026, and the staff member was immediately assigned to home pending an investigation. After a brief internal investigation, the staff member was dismissed,” a school division spokesperson said in an emailed statement.
The spokesperson added that the school division has been co-operating with the police investigation.
“We are not able to share additional details for privacy reasons. We will not comment about a matter before the courts,” the spokesperson said.
“Our primary concern is the well-being of students, families and staff. Supports are available for students and staff affected by these incidents.”
