Work to repair a Circle Drive overpass that was damaged in a crash this spring is set to kick off Monday.
According to the city, work on the 108th Street overpass means the northbound curb lane on Circle Drive below the overpass will be closed, along with the eastbound curb lane on the overpass itself. The overpass sidewalk will be closed during the repair work, the city noted, and the westbound curb lane will be closed to traffic to accommodate a detour for pedestrians.

“The work is expected to be complete by September 27, weather permitting and subject to unforeseen circumstances,” the city said in a statement.
“Drivers and pedestrians are encouraged to plan ahead, follow posted signage and use caution when travelling through the work zone.”
The overpass was damaged on the afternoon of March 11, when it was clipped by a driver hauling an over-height load.
Traffic restrictions were put in place while workers cleaned up debris left at the site, and structural engineers from the city determined the overpass was safe for use until repair work could be scheduled.
According to city solicitor Cindy Yelland, KeyLee Contracting Ltd. in Martensville and a driver are facing charges related to damaging city infrastructure under sections 30.1 and 59 of Saskatoon’s traffic bylaw.
The crash at the 108th Street overpass was one of a series of four crashes involving overpasses in the city during the month of March.
