Three trucks stolen during break-in at Regina business: Police

Police in Regina say three trucks were stolen from a local business on Saturday by a man in a Halloween mask and two accomplices, and two of the vehicles are still unaccounted for.

According to police, officers were called to a business on Montreal Street at around 9:30 a.m. after getting a report about a break in and theft.

“Video surveillance showed a male suspect forcing his way into the business at approximately 12:30 that morning. Once inside, the suspect stole three sets of keys before going back outside and using the keys to steal a black Dodge Ram 3500,” the Regina Police Service said in a statement.

Police said two additional suspects arrived at the business a few hours later and made off with a blue Dodge Ram 1500.

“A short time later, the original suspect returned and stole a silver Dodge Ram 2500,” police said.

One of the stolen trucks – the black Ram 3500 – was later found on Highway 11 near Lumsden, police said.

Police said the two missing vehicles are a blue 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 with the Saskatchewan plate 413PJV and a silver 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 with the Saskatchewan licence plate M0PRGY.

One of the suspects was described as a male wearing jean shorts, blue running shoes a colourful backpack and “a white Halloween mask,” police said. The second suspect was wearing all-black clothing with a white logo on the front of their shirt and a hood pulled up over their head. The third suspect was wearing all-grey clothing, and also had a hood pulled up over their head.

Anyone with information on the theft or the location of the stolen vehicles was encouraged to contact the Regina Police Service or make a report anonymously though Crime Stoppers.

Man charged after allegedly pointing gun at workers

A 40-year-old man is facing multiple charges after allegedly pointing a gun at a group of people Friday afternoon.

Regina police say their Tactical Support Team responded to a call at a hotel in the 1900 block of Rupert Street at about 2 p.m. Officers learned that a man and woman in one of the hotel rooms yelled at a group of workers on top of a residence across the street.

According to police, the man pointed a gun at the workers. Officers surrounded the suite and the woman exited. She was released without charges. The man was taken into custody shortly after, also without incident.

Officers searched the room and found a machete as well as an airsoft rifle. The 40-year-old man is charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order and use of an imitation firearm during the commission of an indictable offence.

The suspect made his first appearance in Regina Provincial Court on Monday morning.

According to information from the Regina Police Service, the Tactical Support Teams were created in 2024, “assigning two full-time SWAT team members to each shift, rather than having to be called out when incidents occur. The full-time support is a direct response to the changing face of crime in our city, in particular, the increased presence of firearms.”

“Any time officers are dispatched to a report of a firearm, which is almost daily, additional safety measures and responses must be considered. All calls must be treated as though the firearms are real, even if they turn out to be imitation.  When required, the extra level of support can be provided by the TST officers assigned to each shift.”
