A woman is facing several charges after allegedly throwing a knife at her Saskatoon cab driver.
According to the Saskatoon Police Service (SPS), officers were called around 12:40 a.m. Tuesday to the 1400 block of Idylwyld Drive North, between 35th and 36th streets.

Originally, “it was reported that a male cab driver had a knife and attempted to stab a woman,” according to police. However, another call indicated it was the woman who had pulled a knife on her driver.
At the scene, officers learned the male cab driver had given the 21-year-old woman a ride. When he dropped her off, however, she grabbed his phone charger.
The driver got out of the cab to get his charger back, and that’s when “the woman pulled out a knife and threw it at him,” police said.
The woman was arrested and is now facing four charges: possession of a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, assault with a weapon and breach of court-imposed conditions.
Taxi driver shot with BB gun
This isn’t the first time this year someone has assaulted a Saskatoon cab driver.
On May 18, police said a taxi driver was shot with a BB gun after a rider refused to pay their fare and was asked to leave the vehicle.
In that instance, the 51-year-old driver was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
On June 18, police said a 27-year-old man was charged with aggravated assault and multiple firearms-related offences in relation to the BB gun shooting.
