Saskatoon drivers may need to take a detour around construction projects on Broadway Avenue and Idylwyld Drive in the days ahead.
According to the City of Saskatoon, Broadway will be closed from Second Street East to Fourth Street East for water main and roadway preservation work. The closure starts on Thursday, and the city said the work is expected to run for four weeks, barring any unforeseen circumstances or delays due to weather.

“Detour signs will be in place to guide motorists around the area,” the city noted in a statement. “The City thanks everyone in advance for their patience.”
Overnight resurfacing starts on Idylwyld on Thursday
Meanwhile, the northbound lanes of Idylwyld Drive between 39th Street East and 51st Street East will be closed overnight for road resurfacing starting on Thursday.
“This work is expected to take eight nights, weather permitting and barring any unforeseen circumstances,” the city said.
Once again, detour signs will be in place to guide drivers around the work.
Saskatoon Transit routes may be affected by the closures, the city noted, and riders were encouraged to check service alerts and third-party apps for the latest updates.
