A 30-year-old Saskatoon man is facing charges after allegedly clipping an officer with a vehicle’s side mirror while fleeing from police on Monday morning.
According to the Saskatoon Police Service, an officer who was controlling traffic during an investigation on Central Avenue at around 7:30 a.m. attempted to prevent a vehicle from continuing along an alley.

“The driver did not follow the officer’s direction and proceeded to accelerate towards the officer; striking the Constable with the vehicle’s side mirror before fleeing,” the police force said in a statement.
Officers caught up with the man while he was riding a bicycle in the area of Central Avenue and 105th Street on Wednesday, police said. The man attempted to flee once again, police alleged, but he was arrested following “a brief physical altercation.”
He’s now facing charges of assaulting a police officer, hit and run, resisting arrest and breaching court-ordered conditions, police said.
Woman charged after allegedly pointing fake gun at group of people in downtown Saskatoon
A 36-year-old woman was arrested early on Thursday morning after allegedly pointing an imitation firearm at a group of people in downtown Saskatoon.
According to police, officers were called to the area around 21st Street East and Third Avenue South at around 12:30 a.m.
“Upon arrival, witnesses identified the woman to officers and she was arrested without incident. A search of her property located an imitation firearm,” the Saskatoon Police Service said in a statement.
The woman is now facing charges of assault with a weapon and breaching court-ordered conditions, police said, along with “several firearms-related offences.”
