Saskatoon residents looking to enjoy the Saskatchewan Day long weekend will have to navigate a few changes to city services on Monday.
While parking will be free across downtown on August 3, City Hall and libraries will be locking their doors, and transit routes will switch over to holiday schedules.
Hours and adjusted operations for the statutory holiday are:
Saskatoon Transit:
Fixed-route buses will operate on holiday schedules from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. OnDemand transit will not be running.
Access Transit will operate from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.
The Transit customer service centre will be closed for walk-ins, but phone lines (306-975-3100) will open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Pay parking:
Drivers do not need to pay for on-street parking on Monday, though time limits and all other parking restrictions still apply.
Impound lot:
The municipal impound lot will be closed for vehicle releases on Monday.
City Hall: Closed Monday, reopening Tuesday morning at 8 a.m.
Libraries and galleries: All Saskatoon Public Library locations and the Remai Modern will be closed.
Woodlawn Cemetery: The office is closed, but the grounds remain open to visitors from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Waste and recycling collections: Scheduled pickups for garbage, recycling, and organics will go ahead as normal.
Landfill: The Material Recovery Centre and landfill will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
Compost Depot: Open on Monday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park and Zoo: Regular hours, with the zoo open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the park open from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Nutrien Playland: Open at Kinsmen Park from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Golf courses: Holiday Park, Wildwood, and Silverwood are open with regular hours, starting tee times at 6 a.m. Driving ranges at Holiday Park and Silverwood close at 8 p.m.
Outdoor pools: Lathey and Mayfair pools are open for a public swim from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. George Ward and Riversdale pools will host family and lane swimming from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a public swim until 6 p.m.
Leisure centres: Cosmo Civic Centre and Terry Fox Track are closed, while Harry Bailey Aquatic Centre remains closed for upgrades. The Shaw Centre and Lakewood Civic Centre are open from 12 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Lawson Civic Centre is open from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and the Saskatoon Field House will open from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
