PHOTOS: Saskatoon Ex kicks off annual fair at Prairieland Park

Prairieland Park was bustling Thursday as crowds gathered at the midway to kick off the Saskatoon Ex.

Candace Shierling, director of signature events at Prairieland Park, said Midway Melodies, a 12-person karaoke game, will be at the event.

“It’s going to be located right beside our 22,000-square-foot tent called the Canopy, where we’re going to have draft beer available,” she said in a previous interview.

Another new attraction is Bourbon Street North where the breezeway once stood.

“It’s going to be filled with a New Orleans vibe. You’re going to have some jazz music as you come through.”  Shierling said.

To kick off opening night at the Grandstand, Canadian Band Theory of a Deadman will hit the stage with their top hits including “Bad Girlfriend” and “Rx (Medicate).”

The Grandstand will welcome artists Shawn Desman, Streetheart and Josh Ross over the long weekend with shows beginning at 7:30 p.m.
