RCMP officers in Saskatchewan had a busy year in 2025, fielding 15 per cent more calls than they did in 2024.
The Saskatchewan RCMP call centre received 422,274 calls for service last year, the federal police force said in a statement, which works out to an average of just under 1,157 each day. While the number of calls jumped by 15 per cent between 2024 and 2025, the Mounties noted that figure has gone up by a total of 58 per cent over the past decade.

Of the 422,274 calls in 2025, the RCMP said 4,801 were high-priority emergencies “where police response is imperative to an individual’s, or the public’s, safety.”
The police force noted that policing is becoming more complex and said cases often require significant resources to complete.
“Investigations are rarely linear. They require frequent and immediate adjustments in strategy and resources,” RCMP superintendent Devin Pugh said in a statement.
“The Saskatchewan RCMP is multiple detachments, units, and teams that build one police force. This sets us apart. It means we can move resources to where they are needed. It means we are capable of protecting the communities that rely on us.”
Earlier this week, the RCMP stated that 60 of the 80 detachment areas in Saskatchewan were ranked above the national average on the annual Crime Severity Index report, with 11 of those detachment areas seeing a crime severity index rating that’s more than 10 times above the national average.
Pugh said the RCMP frequently draws on officers from other detachments and specialized teams during some calls.
“The ability to surge our police response within Saskatchewan is a skillset that only the RCMP has,” Pugh said. “It’s this unique capability that helps keep Saskatchewan safe.”
In addition to the 422,274 calls for service fielded by the RCMP’s Saskatchewan call centre, the police force said its police dogs were deployed 1,095 times in 2025, while its emergency response team was sent out on 114 occasions.
