Three charged in attempted break-in at North Battleford church

On Tuesday last week, Battlefords RCMP officers responded to a call about a potential break and enter at a church on Winder Crescent in North Battleford.

The suspects didn’t manage to get into the building, and police say the church wasn’t damaged during the incident.

In all, five people were arrested by RCMP officers. Police said a search of the suspects led to the discovery of weapons, including an imitation firearm in one man’s possession. One woman allegedly had bear spray and weapons.

A 26-year-old woman from Saskatoon has been charged with the possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, and failure to comply with an undertaking condition.

Additionally, a 29-year-old man from Wilkie has been charged with possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, and a 26-year-old from Saskatoon has been charged with possession of break-in instruments.

The three suspects are scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on September 28, 2026. The two other people arrested were released without being charged.
