Murray Wood breaks down how much Saskatchewan taxpayers are putting up to subsidize flights to the U.S.
After asking for assistance from the public last week in a shooting investigation, Melfort RCMP have made two arrests.
“As a result of continued investigation, on July 8, Melfort RCMP obtained and executed a search warrant at a residence on 1 Avenue South in Melfort, SK.,” the RCMP said in a release on Wednesday.

During that search, officers found a loaded crossbow, as well as ammunition, a gun, 75 grams of cocaine and drug trafficking paraphernalia. The RCMP seized the items. A man and a woman were arrested at the home.
A man arrived at the home in a vehicle while Melfort RCMP were there.
“Officers approached the vehicle and observed firearms inside,” police said. That man was also arrested and two loaded guns were seized from the vehicle.
A 23 year old and a 53 year old, both from Melfort, are both facing multiple weapon- and drug-related charges as a result of the investigation.
Both men are expected to appear in Melfort Provincial Court on Aug. 31. Melfort RCMP are still investigating, with help from the Saskatchewan RCMP’s Prince Albert general investigation section.
