“One sustained what are believed to be serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle,” the Prince Albert Police Service said in a statement.
“The second was affected by bear spray and also sustained injuries during the incident. Both were transported to hospital for treatment.”
Police said an investigation determined a group of teens had gathered in the parking lot when a fight broke out. The occupants of one vehicle were bear sprayed, police said, “resulting in a physical altercation involving multiple individuals.”
During the fight, police said an 18-year-old man “intentionally drove a vehicle into another vehicle before striking the two victims, who were standing in the parking lot.”
Police said the incident was not random, as all the involved parties knew each other.
“The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival. Charges are anticipated, and police are actively seeking the 18-year-old male,” the police force noted.
“The suspect will not be identified until formal charges have been laid.”
Anyone with information that could help the investigation was asked to contact the Prince Albert Police Service or submit a tip anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
