Regina police are asking for assistance from the public in an investigation into an assault with a weapon.
Police said the incident in question happened around 7 a.m. on June 26, in the 1800 block of St. John Street.

“Police were patrolling in the area when they observed an altercation involving two females,” a news release stated.
Officers stopped driving and approached the women when one ran away. The second female remained and officers provided first aid to her, “as it appeared as though she had been stabbed.”
The injured woman was taken to hospital for treatment of what police said appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.
“Despite searching the area, the female suspect that fled the scene has not yet been located,” police shared, adding that the investigation is still ongoing.
Anyone who saw the incident or has information that could help investigators is asked to call the Regina Police Service or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
Aggravated assault charges laid against 19-year-old man
A man, 19, is facing several charges, including aggravated assault, after an incident on June 27.
Police responded to the 700 block of Arthur Street after receiving a report of a weapons offence around 2 p.m. Officers found a man hurt inside a home when they arrived.
“The victim told police he had answered the door and the male suspect, unknown to the victim, came inside the home. The male suspect assaulted the victim before leaving the residence,” a release from Regina police said.
Paramedics responded and took the victim to hospital to have “serious laceration and puncture wounds” treated.
Police said the suspect was found and arrested by officers. He’s now facing charges of aggravated assault, resisting arrest and failure to comply with a probation order.
He first appeared in Regina Provincial Court on June 29.
