Police handed out hundreds of tickets in Saskatoon and the surrounding area after spending four days focused on traffic enforcement this month.
According to the Saskatoon Police Service, officers with the city police force and other provincial policing agencies stopped and inspected 295 commercial vehicles on May 6 and 7 on Highway 16, just outside of Langham.

Over those two days, officers issued 70 tickets and 89 warnings, and ordered 44 complete vehicle or trailer inspections. Of the 295 vehicles stopped, 21 were taken out of service and four drivers had their licences suspended due to drug impairment.
Then, on Wednesday and Thursday last week, police turned their attention to drivers in the Bridge City. During the two-day blitz, police said four impaired drivers saw their vehicles impounded, while 83 drivers were issued tickets for distracted driving and 169 drivers were fined for speeding.
In Saskatoon, 39 commercial vehicles were inspected. Of those, police said 12 required further inspection and 17 were taken off the road for safety reasons.
Police said a total of 368 tickets were handed out during the project.
