Arrest warrant issued for 18-year-old Big River First Nation woman after carjacking: RCMP

An 18-year-old woman from the Big River First Nation is wanted by police in connection with a violent carjacking on Sunday evening.

According to the Saskatchewan RCMP, police got a report about a robbery on Highway 793, on the First Nation, shortly before 10 p.m.

“Investigation determined an SUV was stopped on the side of the highway. A group of individuals approached the SUV and demanded the vehicle’s keys. An altercation occurred, during which bear spray was deployed into the SUV. The SUV was stolen,” the RCMP explained in a statement.

“The occupants of the SUV were assessed by EMS and reported non-life-threatening injuries to police.”

Police said the stolen vehicle was a black Hyundai Tuscan, with the Saskatchewan plate 089 NFP.

“Big River RCMP made patrols searching for the SUV and the suspects. At this time, the SUV and the suspects have not been located,” the RCMP noted.

The Mountes said 18-year-old Mariah Bill, a resident of the Big River First Nation, is facing charges in relation to the alleged robbery. Those charges include robbery with a weapon, three counts of assault with a weapon, uttering threats, assault, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and possessing weapons contrary to an order.

The RCMP said Bill is five-foot-seven, weighing 140 pounds, with brown eyes and dyed red hair.

“We are working to obtain a recent photo of her,” the Mounties noted.

“If you see Mariah Bill, do not approach her.”

Police asked anyone who spots Bill or the stolen vehicle to contact police or make a report anonymously through Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers.
