RCMP officers in the Battlefords are asking for help from the public as they work to put together a timeline of a homicide case.
The Saskatchewan RCMP said 65-year-old Melissa Kohle-Derkachenko was last seen at a Walmart in North Battleford on April 5. Three days later, police responding to a call found Kohle-Derkachenko dead at a home on 20th Street West in Battleford.

At the time, police said the woman’s death was considered suspicious. This week, police described her death as a homicide.
“Investigators are releasing the video of Melissa so people can see what she looks like and what she was wearing the last time she was seen,” the RCMP said in a statement.
“It is their hope that tips from the public may help develop a clearer timeline of events leading up to her death, which is considered a homicide.”
When she was last seen, Kohle-Derkachenko was wearing a black jacket, blue and green plaid pants, black boots and glasses. The RCMP asked anyone who saw her or had any contact with her early in April to contact police or make a report anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
Police akso asked anyone who witnessed suspicious activity on 20th Street over the Easter weekend to make a report.
“Any information – no matter how small it may seem – can be vital to advancing an investigation,” the RCMP said.
“What you know could be the missing piece investigators need to bring answers and closure to Melissa’s family.”
